UNIT 5:​ WHY PLAY GAMES WHEN THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO IN THE CLASSROOM?

When used right, Games can actually accentuate the purpose of your day’s work. Why play Games? Aren’t Games distracting? What Games should we play? Can we design our own Games? Cooperative Dames and Reflection Activities become relevant and powerful tools to break down barriers, build up focus and practise interpersonal skills for positive social change at school.

UNIT 6: CREATIVITY AND MOTIVATION IN YOUR CLASS… IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE?

“Creativity”… is it an empty phrase in the present Educational System? While implementing Non-Formal Learning through creative learning experiences, you can teach English working with games, stories, fables, proverbs, graffiti, music, humour, movies and technology. Stimulate Creative Thinking with effective approaches like Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, Role-playing, Lateral Thinking, etc.…

We will present a variety of strategies to grab your students’ attention and get them involved from the very start of the lesson, raising engagement and participation. These quick activities are designed to stimulate thinking, raise flagging energy levels or to spark motivation. They are a wonderful way to build group cohesion and stimulate interaction, making your lesson more engaging.

  • Each Unit will be electronically delivered (via email) once a week for you to read it at your own pace.

  • Themes in Units are thoroughly described together with pictures, graphs, charts,
    teaching resources, etc...

  • Hand-made Teaching Resources will be in a picture/photo format in your Handbook.

WEEKLY ON-GOING TUTORING ASSESSMENT will be available twice a week to answer (via email) all your questions and doubts about every unit/topic and guide you throughout the Course.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Grace Bertolini is an experienced Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. She attended courses on Learning Organizations, Multiple Intelligences, Classroom Management, TPRS, Cooperative Learning, Learning and the Brain, Social Emotional Learning, Conflict Resolution and Positive Discipline in England, USA and Spain.

She studied other languages such as French, Italian and Portuguese and she has studies in Physical Education.

She has also got a Neuro Learning Degree that has allowed her to incorporate tools for brain-compatible learning, positive educational environment and multiple intelligences.

For more than 35 years she has taught all levels and ages at bilingual schools, Private Schools of English and Business Companies and she is former Kindergarten & Primary Head of English at Highlands School in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She is a Bilingual Facilitator for Peace Education Foundation (USA), a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator for Positive Discipline Association (USA), and she lectures on Social Emotional Learning, Conflict Resolution, Classroom Management and Positive Discipline at school.

 

At present, she delivers courses for Asociación Educar para el Desarrollo Humano and ECO: Escuela de Coaching Ontológico in Argentina and for Cambridge University Press in Chile.


As CREATIVE TEACHING Director, she designs e-books for Kindergarten, Primary and High school classes and delivers Professional Development Workshops and Courses nationwide and abroad on Teaching EFL effectively.
